Caltex Australia Limited
(ASX:CTX) has confirmed the closure of its Kurnell refinery in New South Wales, with a scheduled end of operations date in the second half of 2014.
The oil refiner says it has decided to proceed with the Kurnell closure and conversion following a consultation period.
The move comes on the back of a year-long company review prompted a decision by Caltex to restructure its supply chain, with a major focus on refineries.
The decision will see the loss of at least 330 jobs, however Kurnell is set to be converted into an import facility for transport fuel.
Caltex posted a first half net profit of $167.3 million.
