Suncorp-Metway Ltd
(ASX:SUN) has appointed Robert Stribling as chief risk officer.
Mr Stribling has held senior executive roles in the areas of financial services risk management in the US, Europe and Asia and with NAB, the Commonwealth Bank and ANZ in Australia.
CEO Patrick Snowball says the appointment of Mr Stribling to his senior executive team will ensure risk management remained a key focus at the forefront of the group’s operations.
Mr Snowball says the global financial crisis has reinforced the importance of effective risk management frameworks underpinning the activities of all organizations, particularly financial service companies.
Mr Stribling will join Suncorp in early January 2010. Suncorp-Metway’s profits have fallen in the last couple of years since reaching a high of over $1 billion in 2007.
