Testing Update at Lempuyang-1 Well, Block L, Brunei
Further to the testing schedule announced on 18 January 2011 and market update on 28 January 2011, AED Oil Limited (ASX Code: AED), as operator of Block L, Brunei, wishes to update the market on the progress of testing at Lempuyang-1 reservoir.
Inclement weather and other minor delays have resulted in delays to running the testing equipment into place. The expected date for the initial perforation of the reservoir is now pushed back slightly. Since the last market update, the following advances have occurred:
- explosives have now cleared customs and are now on site; and
- perforating guns are now positioned in the well.
Final equipment installation down hole and processes for commencement of testing are expected to conclude within the next 48 hours. For safety and optimal testing conditions the initial perforation and flow test must be conducted in daylight with a revised target date of Friday 4 February 2011 for commencement of flow testing, and the completion of the first stage of testing is expected to be completed over the coming weekend.
