(ASX:LEI) subsidiary Thiess has won a tender to construct a new hospital on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Healthscope was selected by the New South Wales Government to build, operate and maintain the new nine storey facility picking Thiess as the design and construct contractor.
The Northern Beaches Hospital will consist of 488 beds, a 50 space emergency department, 14 operating theatres and intensive and critical care units as well as a modern, inpatient mental health facility.
Final contracts will be completed with Healthscope by the end of the year.
Leighton Holdings reported a net profit of $284.6 million for the half year ended 30th June 2014.
