Bandanna marks milestone

Company News

Bandanna Energy Limited (ASX:BND) has lodged its mining lease application for its Springsure Creek Project in Queensland.

Managing director Michael Gray says the company is focused on meeting the regulatory approval processes in Queensland and is setting a benchmark for the co-existence of underground mining and farming.

Mr Gray says the company is well placed to become the nation’s next coal producer and generate substantial regional investment as well as job creation in Emerald.

Bandanna has an application for a mining lease to cover the project area as well as two new applications to provide direct transport to the nearby rail line to ensure that no coal haulage occurs on public roads.

Bandanna’s Springsure Creek underground thermal coal project is scheduled to begin production in the first half of 2015.

Bandanna Energy generated a net loss of $5.78 million in the first half of the current financial year.
