Singtel shops around

Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (ASX:SGT) is believed to be shopping around its Optus satellite unit towards pension and wealth funds.

The satellite unit delivers internet and television to retail and business customers, as it understood to be valued at around $2 billion.

Singtel says Optus satellite had $319 million in revenue for the year to March.

Both credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley are reportedly working from Australia and Singapore.
 
Singtel last turned in a $3.05 billion net profit to March 31 2012.
