Echo appoints new CEO

Company News

Echo Entertainment Group Limited (ASX:EGP) is set to appoint former US based gaming and entertainment executive John Redmond as its new CEO, subject to regulatory approvals.

Mr Redmond has held the position of Non-Executive Director on Echo’s board since March this year, and is expected to cease his current role to assume the top job in January 2013.

Chairman John O’Neill says Mr Redmond brings an invaluable balance of experience covering casino and entertainment management, and will bring international experience to Echo’s strategy for corporate growth.

Mr O’Neill pointed to Mr Redmonds experience as a regulator with the Nevada Gaming Control Board as a compelling indication of his skill in operational oversight.

Echo posted a net profit of $42.2 million in fiscal 2012.
