Aquarius suspends Kwezi after deaths August 02, 2012 10:20 AM

Aquarius Platinum Limited (ASX:AQP) has advised of an incident resulting in three deaths and 20 injuries at its Kwezi shaft in South Africa. 
 
Operations at the shaft have been suspended until further notice after a gathering of about 200 people, some of whom were armed, forced their way onto the mine property. 
 
The mining development company says a total of 450 employees were on the shaft and underground at the time of the invasion.
 
In the first half of its 2012 financial year Aquarius Platinum posted a net loss of $111.7 million.
