Mermaid Marine Australia Limited (ASX:MRM) has responded to reports yesterday afternoon relating to a marine incident that occurred late last year.
It has been reported that the one of the marine service provider’s vessels deserted workers during Hurricane Nate in the Gulf of Mexico.
Mermaid has stated its seeking exoneration from liability for any and all claims arising from the incident and to cap its legal liability to around $US21million.
Mermaid Marine Australia reported a net profit of $27.6 million for the first half of its 2012 financial year.
