According to the Australian, China’s Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group settled this year’s copper treatment and refining charges with BHP Billiton
(ASX:BHP) at US$46.50 a tonne.
Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group is China’s second-largest copper smelter by output and the biggest purchaser of copper concentrate in annual contracts.
Chief negotiator of Tongling, Yang Jun leads the China Smelters Purchase Team.
BHP reported a profit of $7.2 billion for fiscal 2009.
