Demand strong for Qantas (ASX:QAN) A380s

Company News

Qantas Airways (ASX:QAN) says that technical glitches with its fleet of Airbus A380s haven't swayed demand for seats on the world’s biggest commercial aircraft.

Last week, a Melbourne to LA flight was delayed 24 hours because of a faulty fuel indicator, leaving passengers stranded on board for five hours before they could disembark.

With many of the A380 services landing at some of the world’s busiest airports, delays in taking off may mean they lose their designated arrival slot.

Qantas says so far none of the problems experienced have jeopardized safety.

Qantas has never had a fatal jet accident in its 89-year history.

Qantas Airways achieved a $117 million net profit in 2009.
