Gold miner Allied Gold Ltd
(ASX:ALD) released a statement this morning saying it had returned to full production today after receiving a Cease Work Order the week before last.
On December 23rd the company said its wholly owned subsidiary Simberi Gold Company had received a Cease Work Order for its Simberi Gold mine from the Mineral Resources Association of Papua New Guinea.
However after seeking legal advice the company found the order to be invalid and void and lodged an appeal.
The company says the stoppage has deferred at least 3,000 ounces of production and as at December 21, 2009, the company had produced around 17,800 ounces of gold for the December quarter.
Allied Gold has earmarked a further $200 million for investment in PNG over the coming three years.
The company says it remains on track to deliver a significant increase in its production profile to in excess of 300,000 ounces by 2012 through its organic expansion in PNG and the redevelopment of the Gold Ridge project in the Solomon Islands.
Allied Gold reported a loss for calendar 2008.
