Telstra Corporation (ASX:TLS) orders Beam iridium products

Top Telco Telstra Corporation (ASX:TLS) has ordered $1.3 million of hands-free kits and handsets from Beam Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of World Reach Ltd (ASX:WRR).

According to a statement from World Reach, the order is for a new bundled solution consisting of Beam’s SatDOCK in-vehicle hands-free docking station and an iridium satellite telephone, offering a complete in-vehicle solution for Telstra customers.

Beam says it has experienced a very high level of demand for the latest SatDOCK terminals and this major order form Telstra further demonstrates the demand for these bundled solutions for the Australian market place.

Telstra will start to receive deliveries in December will the full order to be received by January 2010.

Telstra’s 2009 net profit after tax came to $4.073 billion.
