Provider of services to the oil and gas sector Mermaid Marine Australia Ltd
(ASX:MRM) is confident that the company will be awarded further contracts for the massive Gorgon liquefied natural gas project.
According to the Australian Associated Press Managing Director Jeff Weber says the company has won 2 major supply base contracts for the LNG project.
AAP reports that the company signed a sublease agreement with Chevron late last year for the use of 40% of the company’s supply base at Dampier.
And this month signed another deal to provide services to the Gorgon project worth around $32 million over the first couple of years.
Chairman Tony Howarth says the company is well positioned to take advantage of the demand for support services to construct an LNG plant of the scale of this project.
Mermaid Marine Services 2009 net profit came in at $26.52 million.
