Manufacturer of medical equipment for treating sleep-disordered breathing ResMed Inc
(ASX:RMD) has reported a 50 per cent jump in profit for the September quarter.
Net profit for the three months to September 30 came to US$42.1 million, compared to US$28 million recorded for the same quarter in 2008.
The US based company says sales rose 13 per cent to US$247 million.
CEO Kieran T. Gallahue says in the first quarter of fiscal 2010 the company continued to show strong growth year over year.
ResMed says that sales outside of the US were impacted by currency movements, with sales up 8 per cent to US$112.3 million.
Mr Gallahue says the company’s robust revenue growth, strong operating cash flows and exciting product pipeline continue to position ResMed well for the future.
ResMed’s 2009 net profit was US$146.4 million.
