Airport owner MAp Airports Ltd
(ASX:MAP) has released third quarter results for Brussels Airport, reporting a 1.6 per cent decline in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation.
CEO Kerrie Mather says this is a pleasing result for the quarter, saying that the 1.6 per cent fall in earnings relative to the 6.2 per cent decline in traffic represents a significant improvement over the first half.
The 6.2 per cent decline in traffic was an improvement on the 11.7 per cent decline in the first half of 2009, helped by an improved short haul performance from Brussels Airlines.
The company says in August, Air Canada announced that it will commence a direct flight to Montreal from summer 2010, giving passengers from Brussels access to Air Canada’s extensive network of Canadian and US destinations.
MAp Airports 2008 net profit was its best in five years.
