Hastie Group Ltd (ASX:HST) awarded two contracts

International building services and refrigeration systems company Hastie Group Ltd (ASX:HST) has been awarded two contracts worth a total $67 million to provide services for new medical facilities in Cambridge, UK and Melbourne.

Hastie says its Rotary business has secured a $37 million contract to provide electrical services for new facilities for the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge.

The contract is due to start in February 2010 and finish in early 2012 and will cover the supply and installation of all electrical equipment.

Hastie says it has also won a $30 million contract to provide mechanical, hydraulic and electrical services for the new Parkville Neuroscience facility that is being constructed on the University if Melbourne’s Parkville campus, the project is due for completion in 2011.

Group managing director and CEO David Harris says these are very prestigious contracts and reflect Hastie’s growing reputation in the healthcare and medical sector.

Hastie Group’s 2009 net profit was its best in five years.
