Liberty Advisory Panel Key Appointments
Liberty Resources Limited (ASX:LBY) is pleased to announce the formation of an Advisory Panel which will assist and advise Liberty in building its presence in the United States of America and Canada. This non-executive Advisory Panel has substantial experience and includes:
Jim Merlino (President Hunterdon LLC)
Based in Colorado, Mr Merlino is the president of a strategic consulting firm that provides political, communications, logistical, financial and media consulting services to political candidates and for-profit organizations.
His experience includes media relations work for the White House, State of the World Forum, The Brookings Institution and the United States Department of Energy. Between 1992 and 1996, Mr Merlino worked for the White House on presidential trips in the United States and abroad. He served on the national campaign staffs of Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, and Bill Clinton and was Campaign Advisor to Bill Bradley in 2000. In 2003 and 2004, Jim served as the Policy Director for the Colorado State Senate Minority. He was also President of the Venice California Chamber of Commerce from 1992-1994.
David Wheeler (CEO Vanquish Global Resources, Senior Consultant of Clarksons Investment Services (DIFC) Ltd.)
Based in New York, Mr Wheeler has raised over $3.5 billion of debt and equity for Perth based start-up companies over the past 15 years. Mr Wheeler has over 30 years of investment banking experience in the natural resources, industrials and metals sectors and has built several successful practices at various firms. He has had significant international exposure, having closed many transactions with pre-revenue, development stage companies including over $20 billion in capital raisings, restructures and M&A mandates.
Edward Mercaldo (Chairman Norwood Resources Ltd)
Mr Mercaldo has enjoyed a career of more than 25 years as an International Commercial and Investment Banker with several leading financial institutions including Wachovia, Bank of Montreal, Bankers Trust Company of New York, Gordon Capital and First Marathon Securities. Having left the Banking sector, Mr Mercaldo subsequently served as Chief Financial Officer of Diamond Fields Resources and joined the Board of Inco, then the leading North American Nickel producer, post its acquisition of Diamond Fields Resources.
Now based in California, Mr Mercaldo is a financial consultant and private investor who has provided financial and strategic business advice to numerous natural resource companies and has also served on the boards of US and Canadian companies. He is a graduate of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and has completed the Advanced Management Program of the Harvard Business School.
Geoff Stanley (President Riverfield Capital)
Mr Stanley has been based in New York since 1994 where previously he was Managing Director, Senior Mining Analyst and Portfolio Manager with BMO Capital Markets and Platinum Partners. He was a highly ranked analyst in the Australian, Canadian and US equity markets and is a Director of several ASX listed companies including Bannerman Resources Ltd and Crescent Gold Ltd.
Joe Hamilton
Mr. Hamilton has over 25 years of experience in the international mining industry as an exploration geologist, mining analyst, Managing Director of mining development companies and as an Independent Corporate Director. Mr. Hamilton brings a global perspective to his role through extensive operational experience in Africa, Latin America and North America. His knowledge of North American Capital Markets was developed over a seven year period as a senior Precious Metals Research Analyst based in Toronto. Mr. Hamilton obtained a Masters of Science (Applied) from Queen's University in 1991 and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in 1985. Mr. Hamilton is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Professional Geologist. He is currently a member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario, Canada, a member of the CFA Institute and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He serves as a non-executive director of Malbex Resources Inc., Chairman of Noront Resources Ltd. and Executive Chairman of Unigold Inc.
