The following changes are to be made to the Board and Management of Elk Petroleum Limited (ASX: ELK);
The Chairman, Dr Peter Power has announced his retirement as Chairman and Director of the Company effective 29th October 2010.
Dr Neale Taylor, currently Non-executive Director, has accepted the position of Chairman of the Company effective 30th October 2010.
Mr Andy Rigg, currently Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, has announced his resignation from both of these positions and from the Elk Board, effective 29th October 2010.
Mr Bob Cook, currently Executive Director, Operations will assume the positions of Acting Managing Director and Acting Chief Executive Officer effective 30th October 2010.
Mr Matt Healy has accepted an invitation to join the Board as a Non-executive Director effective 21st October 2010. Mr Healy is a construction engineer, graduating from the University of Technology in 2000 and holds a post-graduate MBA (Exec) from the Australian Graduate School of Management in Sydney. During his career, Mr Healy has worked in various executive and operational roles primarily facilitating development and project management on large, complex assets. Mr Healy is currently a director of ASX listed company Navigator Resources Limited.
In announcing these changes, Dr Power welcomed Mr Healy to the Board and said "Matt will bring a wealth of business experience to the Company at a time when Elk Petroleum Limited (ASX:ELK) is proposing to progress a number of its assets through development".
Incoming Chairman Dr Taylor thanked both Dr Power and Mr Rigg for their efforts on behalf of the Company and wished them both well for the future.
