Marion Energy Limited (ASX:MAE) Operations Update – Oman 2-20 Well

Operations Update – Oman 2-20 Well

Marion Energy Limited (ASX: MAE, MAEO, MAEOA) is pleased to announce that the first stage of its operations at the Oman 2-20 well at Clear Creek has been successfully completed and the next stage of operations commenced. Details of these operations are outlined below.

Oman 2-20

Workover operations on the Oman 2-20 well, intended to bring this well back on production, commenced in the second half of December 2010 and are successfully proceeding as planned. For the well to achieve its full productive capacity, the fluid (water) level in the well bore will need to be drawn down through pumping operations to approximately 200 feet above the perforations, relieving the back pressure on the producing reservoir. An electrical submersible pump has been installed in the well and is now operational. The pumping operation has now commenced and will achieve the drawdown of fluid necessary to achieve maximum production efficiency.

This well is the first of an extensive well workover program (involving up to a total of 16 wells at Clear Creek) and was producing at a rate of up to approximately 250,000 cubic feet of gas per day prior to being shut in during the latter part of 2009. These 16 wells are a mix of wells drilled by the Company and also some old wells which the Company believes may be able to be profitably brought back onto production. An overview of the overall work program involving was set out in a release to the ASX dated 3 November 2010.

Given the nature of these operations, the Company cannot at this time predict accurately the time frame within which particular milestones for the wells are likely to be reached. As has been indicated in recent releases to the ASX, the Company is targeting the March 2011 quarter to establish meaningful production from the Company's wells.

The Company will shortly commence workover operations on the second well in the workover program, the Utah State Minerals # 1 well.

The Company will further update the market through progress updates as meaningful information becomes available.
