ACCC gives BP green light to accept Woolworths loyalty programs

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a draft decision proposing to grant a conditional commercial alliance between BP Australian Pty Ltd and Woolworths Limited (ASX:WOW)

Authorisation would allow all participating BP service stations to accept Woolworths shopper dockets and participate in the Woolworths rewards loyalty programs.

But the decision will only go ahead if BP is successful in acquiring Woolworths service stations.

The ACCC says the proposed acquisition is subject to separate considerations and its granting of the commercial alliance does not reflect its views of the acquisition.

Shares in Woolworths Limited (ASX:WOW) are trading 0.62 per cent lower at $25.68.
