ADX Energy Ltd (ASX:ADX) announced on 6 November 2026 the commencement of a significant well work program across its Austrian assets. The company, an oil and gas exploration and production firm focused on Central Europe, is deploying an MB Well Services workover rig for activities aimed at production enhancement in its 100% owned Vienna Basin Fields and the Phase 2 testing of the HOCH-1 gas discovery well in Upper Austria. This comprehensive program is anticipated to run for approximately eight weeks.
The Vienna Basin operations are designed to deliver approximately 100 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD) in incremental production. This includes the recompletion of the GA-093 well to a gas producer, expected to yield 50 to 60 BOEPD of incremental gas, strategically timed to leverage high European winter gas prices. Additionally, a pump replacement in the GA-072A well is slated to add around 15 BOEPD of oil and gas, while a new oil zone completion in the GA-087 well is forecast to contribute 30 to 40 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).
Concurrently, ADX Energy, which holds a 50% economic interest in the HOCH gas discovery, will undertake Phase 2 gas testing at the HOCH-1 well within the ADX-AT-I exploration licence. This phase will involve removing the existing completion, drilling out a cement plug, and installing a new production completion to access deeper Hall Channel zones. The objective is to evaluate these zones for their lateral extension and resource potential, building on Phase 1 testing that recorded a commingled flow rate of 3.15 million cubic feet per day (MMCFPD), equivalent to 548 BOEPD, from shallower reservoirs. ADX will provide further updates as the program progresses.
