Midday: ASX trading slightly stronger

Following mainly positive leads the Australian share market is trading slightly higher at noon. Optimism surrounding Greece’s debt negotiations has continued to support sentiment.

The S&P/ASX 200 index has added 12 points to 5,696. On the futures market the SPI is 18 points higher. 
 
Company news
 
Seven West Media Limited (ASX:SWM) has announced a number of director appointments and the retirement of Don Voelte as Director and Deputy Chairman. The media group has appointed Tim Worner as CEO and Managing Director. Former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett, Gilbert + Tobin partner Sheila McGregor and iiNet Limited (ASX:IIN) founder Michael Malone have been appointed Non-executive Directors. Chairman Kerry Stokes says Seven West has undertaken a far-ranging review of its board structure and composition. Shares in Seven West Media have fallen 3.98 per cent and are trading at $1.08 at noon. 
 
Myer Holdings Limited (ASX:MYR) has refinanced $600 million of debt which it believes will deliver a number of benefits for the company. The department store retailer says key features of the facility include more favorable pricing, increased tenor and improved terms. Shares in Myer Holdings have risen 1.87 per cent and are trading at $1.36 at noon. 
 
Best and worst performers
 
The best performing sector is energy, gaining 0.4 per cent to 11,642. Shares in Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (ASX:LNG) have risen 4.87 per cent and trading at $4.09. Shares in Senex Energy Limited (ASX:SXY) and WorleyParsons Limited (ASX:WOR) are also stronger. 
 
The worst performing sector is consumer discretionary, falling 0.5 per cent to 1,888. Shares in Flight Centre Travel Group Limited (ASX:FLT) have dropped 6.13 per cent, trading at $35.21. Shares in Seven West Media Limited (ASX:SWM) and Navitas Limited (ASX:NVT) are also lower. 
 
Gold and the dollar
 
Gold is buying $US1,177 an ounce. 
The Australian dollar is buying $US0.7746.
