Ethereal-1 gas exploration well (PEL 637: Senex 60% and operator, Origin Energy 40%
(ASX:ORG))
The Ethereal-1 well is the second of two wells to be drilled in the southern Cooper Basin as part of Senex’s gas exploration program with Origin Energy. Both wells (Efficient-1 and Ethereal-1) are designed to evaluate material gas accumulations in the Permian section of the Allunga Trough.
Ethereal-1 reached total depth of 3,234 metres on 2 January, and the results were on prognosis and in line with expectations. The results of Ethereal-1 also correlate to the hydrocarbon zones intersected in the Efficient-1 well. The joint venture has cased and suspended Ethereal-1 for fracture stimulation and production testing. Both wells were identified from the Bauhaus 3D seismic survey and are in close proximity to the Bauhaus-1 gas discovery.
