Phoslock Water Solutions Limited (ASX:PHK) - Canadian Drainage Canals

Drainage Water from Reconstruction of Canal being successfully treated in Canada

The outer Holland canal which feeds into the Holland River as part of the Holland Marsh, is being relocated 60 metres away from an existing service road. Phoslock Water Solutions Limited (ASX:PHK) was used experimentally to treat the water before it was pumped into the new canal. The Drainage Commission had identified the outer canal as a contributory source of P from the Holland Marsh into the Holland River. PWS offered Phoslock Water Solutions Limited (ASX:PHK) as a solution to ensuring that the new canal would be established with P free water.

The first 1km of canal has been successfully relocated and the use of Phoslock Water Solutions Limited (ASX:PHK) to treat the drainage water has been successfully undertaken in September and a second 1km section will be treated during the first week of October. A further 12 km of drainage canal is now being progressively re-located with the use of Phoslock Water Solutions Limited (ASX:PHK) as a standard operating procedure. An estimated 25 tonnes of Phoslock Water Solutions Limited (ASX:PHK) will be used in the process.

This further application is approved and funded and will occur in 1km lengths throughout the remainder of 2010 and 2011, until the relocation project is completed.
