Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) has been ranked number 44 in the world in a report that ranks companies by their brand value.
The Milward Brown brand consulting company released its Brandz report which placed the Australian bank ahead of Citi, JP Morgan and the Bank of China.
The report is based on a unique methodology that encompasses both financial data and individual consumer viewpoints.
The report showed that Australian brands are gaining prominence in the global marketplace, ANZ
(ASX:ANZ) made the list coming in at number 51 and Westpac
(ASX:WBC) was at number 85.
Commonwealth Bank reported a net profit of $4.2 billion in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
