Aurelia Metals (ASX:AMI) see key water approval at Peak Mines

Aurelia Metals (ASX:AMI) continues to aim to achieve access to reliable water sources to support activities at the Peak Mines near Cobar in NSW.

In October 2019 Peak received conditional approval from the Cobar Shire Council for a water pipeline that would source groundwater from the Great Cobar Copper Mine.

The approval was granted and Work Approval has now been received from the Natural Resources Access Regulator allowing applications for the final two outstanding administrative approvals to be initiated.
These approvals are expected within the coming weeks, at which point the pumping of groundwater can start.

Until earlier this year, all water was sourced from the Cobar Council via a high security water allocation from the Macquarie and Cudgegong Regulated Rivers.

This groundwater pumping will enable Peak to move toward full water self-sufficiency.

Shares in Aurelia Metals (ASX:AMI) are trading flat at 42 cents.
