(ASX:ANZ) will consolidate two Melbourne call centres, with all staff expected to keep their jobs.
An ANZ spokesperson told media that the bank has decided to consolidate its Mulgrave call centre, where 350 people are based, into its main South Melbourne call centre, which has over 1000 staff.
The decision is a victory for staff, after a leaked internal memo earlier this year showed the bank was considering cutting 590 positions from various locations.
ANZ says no job losses are expected as a result of the change the bank will work with its staff over the next 12 months to help them adjust.
ANZ Banking Group reported a net profit of $2.9 billion in the first half of its 2013 financial year.
