Wesfarmers
(ASX:WES) has appointed the co-deputy chairman of Fortescue Metals Group
(ASX:FMG) Sharon Warburton to its board, with effect 1 August 2019.
She has also been a member of the Takeovers Panel since 2015, which will come in handy as Wesfarmers
(ASX:WES) entered into a scheme implementation deed (SID) to buy Kidman Resources
(ASX:KDR) for $1.90 cash per share.
Sharon is Perth-based, and has extensive board and executive experience in strategy, operations, finance and risk management, along with expertise in governance and remuneration.
Sharon is currently a non-executive director of Gold Road Resources
(ASX:GOR), NEXTDC
(ASX:NXT) and WorleyParsons
(ASX:WOR). She’s also held senior management roles with Citigroup in Sydney and Rio Tinto
(ASX:RIO) in London and Perth.
Sharon was named Telstra Business Woman of the Year in 2014.

(ASX:WES) closed 0.68 per cent higher at $37.00 yesterday. Year to date it’s trading 14.8 per cent higher.
