Newcrest mining
(ASX:NCM) is under investigation for alleged breaches of environmental laws.
The New South Wales Environmental Protection Authority is taking the gold miner to task over its Cadia Valley operations near in Orange.
Itt is alleged Newcrest operated without the proper licences.
The investigation is reportedly linked to a complaint made by Gold and Copper RASX:NCMesources, the company which is locked in an ownership fight with Newcrest over the Cadia Valley tenements.
Newcrest last recorded a $339 million Net Profit to December 31 2012.
