Worley wins Shell Gas Iraq contract

Company News

Worleyparsons Limited (ASX:WOR) has been awarded a three year contract by Shell Gas Iraq to provide management support and infrastructure services for projects under the Basrah Gas Company (BGC).

BGC is the worlds largest flare reduction company, a 25 year joint venture expected to commence treatments of gas flares in Iraq’s southern oilfields early next year.

Worley Parsons, in addition to its support services, will also provide a Project Management System to help manage and control the project effectively.

It is estimated it will provide over 500 thousand man hours over the life of the contract.

CEO Andrew Wood says the development of Iraq’s gas infrastructure will significantly contribute to the sustainability or the Iraqi economy and government.

Worley Parsons generated a net profit of $376.5 million in the 2012 financial year.
