Ceramic Fuel installs first BlueGen unit in UK June 25, 2012 11:41 AM

Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited (ASX:CFU) says UK house builder Crest Nicolson has installed  its gas to electricity generator, BlueGen in one of its low carbon homes.

The trial represents the first UK home using fuel cell power and heating.

The BlueGen product is eligible for the UK ‘Feed-In Tariff’ which sees customers receive payments for its use.

Ceramic’s managing director says, the BlueGen technology is available today and is well placed towards the UK government’s 2016 target for carbon neutral residential homes.

In the first half of the 2012 financial year Ceramic Fuel Cells recorded a net loss of $12.5 million.
