WorleyParsons Limited (ASX:WOR) has been awarded a project management consultancy contract for a refinery in Ecuador, scheduled for completion by the end of 2015.
The engineering company says its reimbursable contract value for stage one and two of the project is expected to be more than $US200 million.
Under the contract WorleyParsons will provide oversight of the engineering and design of the project, followed by providing oversight of contractors and construction management.
CEO John Gill says the contract will provide WorleyParsons with the opportunity to grow in Latin America and in refining and petrochemicals.
WorleyParsons increased its net profit by 25 per cent to $382 million in the 2011 financial year.
