Leighton sells $186M tower to Cromwell

Company News

Leighton Holdings Limited (ASX:LEI) has sold its HQ North Tower in Brisbane for $186 million, breaking records for sales outside the city’s central business district.

The tower contains office and retail space and has been acquired by listed property fund manager, Cromwell Group (ASX:CMW).

Leighton says capital from the sale will be used to pursue more opportunities in the residential and commercial sectors.

Cromwell also purchased Leighton’s proposed new office tower in the Ipswitch central business district earlier this month.

In the 2011 financial year Leighton Holdings booked a net loss of $406 million.
