Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) has appointed Alistair Currie as chief operating officer.
He will have responsibility for technology, shared services and operations, property and major projects.
His appointment is effective from tomorrow subject to regulatory approval.
Mr Currie joined ANZ in 2008 from HSBC where he was president and chief executive officer of HSBC Taiwan.
ANZ recorded a net profit of $2.7 billion for the half year ended 31 March 2011.
