Qantas Airways (ASX:QAN) has launched a new fare structure to offer domestic customers a simpler and more flexible fare structure as well as boost frequent flyer incentives.
From 7 July, Australia’s largest airline will cut its economy fare levels from four to three, enabling customers to potentially earn more points.
The changes come after Qantas this week announced that its budget arm Jetstar and frequent flyer program have underpinned an expected full year increase in its underlying profit before tax to at least $500 million.
However, the company did also forecast that its international business is likely to post a loss of $200 million in the full year.
In the first half of its 2011 financial year, Qantas reported a net profit of $239 million.
