John McFarlane has signalled his intention to remain a director of Westfield Group (ASX:WDC) despite taking on a new role as chairman of Aviva.
The former Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) boss has shed many of his key roles to take up the position at Britain’s largest insurer next year.
Aviva had been on a ten-month search to find the right recruit. Mr McFarlane will relocate to London mid-next year.
In the 2010 calendar year Westfield Group posted a net profit of $1.1 billion.
