The CFO of Kathmandu Holdings Limited (ASX:KMD) has told his investors Australia is the land of opportunity.
He told a conference yesterday that the outdoor clothing company’s potential target Australian sales base would be about $240 million a year at a 60 per cent ratio.
The company, which has doubled its stores since July 2007, warned at its half-year results that costs out of China were rising by as much as 20 per cent.
The company booked a 32 per cent improvement in third quarter sales, rising 29 per cent on a constant currency exchange rate. At the time of reporting, the company said Easter sales and a warmer summer helped boost revenue.
In the first half of the 2011 financial year Kathmandu recorded a net profit of $8.2 million.
