Saracen awards $440m contract for WA underground mine

Saracen Mineral Holdings (ASX:SAR) has awarded what they are calling is its largest single contract in its history to Brynecut Australia.

The Australian miner awarded the $440 million underground mining contract to the company for its Carosue Dam operation in Western Australia.

The contract relates to its underground development and production of the underground mines at Karari and Deep South with an initial term of 4 years, with a scope for a 1 year extension. 

The company says Brynecut is an internationally recognized underground mining contractor which already works with Newcrest (ASX:NCM) and St Barbara (ASX:SBM) just to name a few.

Shares in Saracen Mineral Holdings (ASX:SAR) are trading steady at $1.35.
