Newcrest Mining Ltd
(ASX:NCM) says its two miners in Gosowong in Indonesia have been rescued after a rockslide 10 days ago.
The two miners were trapped at the company’s underground mine after a mudstone slide hit a section of the mine on December 19.
The mining giant released a statement today saying the two miners have been rescued unharmed.
The Gosowong gold and silver project is 82.5 per cent owned by Newcrest with the remaining stake held by Indonesia’s PT Aneka Tambang.
For the year ended 30 June 2010, Newcrest reported a net profit of $602 million.
