Ceramic Fuel Cells inks UK supply deal

Company News

Ceramic Fuel Cells Ltd (ASX:CFU) is expanding its UK presence and has announced that it has inked a supply deal with UK-based energy company E.ON.

While the finance arrangements for the deal have not as yet been revealed, Ceramic Fuel Cells says it has sold three of its BlueGen gas-to-electricity generators to E.ON, and, is continuing to work with the company to develop fully integrated power and heating products for the UK market.

The company advises it is making progress towards having BlueGen certified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme in order to access the UK Government’s feed in tariff.

BlueGen uses ceramic fuel cells to turn natural gas into electricity and heat for hot water, with each unit expected to produce three times the electricity needed to power an average UK home.

Just this Monday Ceramic Fuel Cells also announced it had installed the first BlueGen unit in South Australia, which is currently operating at the Adelaide Central Market.

Ceramic Fuel Cells booked a net loss of $19.65 million in the 2010 financial year.
