RCR Tomlinson Ltd
(ASX:RCR) has been awarded a $57 million contract for the underground portion of the expansion at Newcrest Mining Ltd’s
(ASX:NCM) Cadia Valley operations in New South Wales.
RCR Tomlinson will provide structural, mechanical and piping installation work for conveyors and crushes underground.
The project is scheduled to start this month and due for completion in the second half of next year.
The contract represents the third for RCR at Cadia, following the delivery and installation of a tertiary grinding mill earlier this year. RCR Tomlinson says it now has the management and systems in place to deliver larger projects in its key market sectors of energy, mining, resources and power.
RCR Tomlinson improved its net profit to $17.45 million in the 2010 financial year.
