ANZ appoints new NZ CEO

Company News

ANZ Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) has announced the appointment of David Hisco as chief executive officer of ANZ’s New Zealand arm, to replace Jenny Fagg’s after her decision to step down in August.

Mr Hisco has had a 30 year career at ANZ and held a range of senior executive roles in retail and commercial banking.

The appointment is effective immediately, while still subject to regulatory approval.

Chairman of ANZ National Bank Sir Dryden Spring says Mr Hisco has lived and worked in New Zealand and knows many of the New Zealand staff and customers, commenting that Mr Hisco is a strong replacement for the role of CEO.

ANZ Banking Group reported a profit of $1.93 billion for the six months to 31 March 2010.
