Telstra Ltd
(ASX:TLS) is preparing to announce a restructure of its senior management team today, including the appointment of a new boss for its consumer division.
The telco is also expected to confirm that company veteran and Big Pond chief Justin Milne has resigned to pursue other interests.
CEO David Thodey has a number of key executives currently in acting positions, but he is expected to announce replacements today for two chief operating officer-style positions to report directly to him.
The Australian Financial Review reports that former Tabcorp executive Robert Nason will be given greater responsibility for overall corporate strategy and a company-wide cost cutting role.
And Kate McKenzie will be promoted to chief marketing officer from her current role of managing director of strategic marketing.
A permanent replacement for consumer boss David Moffatt, who left the company five months ago, is also expected to be announced.
The reshuffle is seen as a vital move in David Thodey’s battle to overcome growing internal and investor unease over Telstra’s future, as he struggles to strike a deal with the government over the national broadband network.
Telstra reported a profit of $4.073 billion in fiscal 2009.
