AMP Chairman to retire

AMP Limited (ASX:AMP) has announced that Simon McKeon will retire from the AMP Board at the conclusion of the AGM in May.
 
The board thanked Mr Mckeon for his contribution to AMP over the last three years as the former Macquarie Group executive cited a change in circumstance.
 
Mr John Palmer has agreed to become interim Chairman until a permanent appointment is made. 
 
As a result, Mr Palmer will postpone his retirement from the board until a new Chair is in place.
 
AMP recorded a net profit of $1.71 billion at 31 December 2015.
