Sigma profits decline, but boosts sales

Company News

Sigma Pharmaceuticals (ASX:SIP) has reported a decrease in net profit for the half year ended 31 July 2015.

The company, which is responsible for managing a network of pharmacies across the country, recorded a net profit of $18.89 million, which was a 15.7 per cent decrease on last year’s figure.

However sales revenue for the period was up 11.5 per cent to $1.67 billion.

Sigma says sales revenue was partly offset by the impact of reduced prices under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme price reform.

The company will pay an interim dividend of two cents per share fully franked.
