Midday: Wall St records boost ASX 1.4%

More records on Wall Street have boosted the Australian share market 1.4 per cent at noon. All local sectors are trading higher led by real estate, industrial and health care stocks.

The S&P/ASX 200 index has jumped 72 points to 5,597. On the futures market the SPI is 78 points higher. 
 
Company news
 
Helloworld Limited (ASX:HLO) has announced the resignation of its CEO Elizabeth Gaines after 15 months in the top job. The travel agency group says Ms Gains will continue in her role during the term of her six month notice period until a successor is appointed. Shares in Helloworld last traded at $0.39. 
 
Prana Biotechnology Limited (ASX:PBT) has revealed a $6.8 million research and development refund. The development stage medical biotech group plans to put the funds to further its development of PBT2 for the treatment of Huntington’s Disease. Shares in Prana Biotechnology have risen 5.88 per cent and are trading at $0.18. 
 
Best and worst performers
 
All sectors are trading higher: The best performing sector is real estate investment trusts, gaining 2.6 per cent to 1,267. Shares in Investa Office Fund (ASX:IOF) have risen 3.61 per cent and trading at $3.88. Shares in GPT Group (ASX:GPT) and Goodman Group (ASX:GMG) are also stronger. 
 
The sector with the fewest gains is telco services, adding just under 1 per cent to 2,175. Shares in Vocus Communications Limited (ASX:VOC) have fallen 1.24 per cent, trading at $5.58 but shares in iiNet Limited (ASX:IIN) and Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX:TLS) are trading higher. 
 
Gold and the dollar
 
Gold is buying $US1,201 an ounce. 
The Australian dollar is buying $US0.7792.
