Qantas Airways Limited
(ASX:QAN) says passenger numbers for January dipped 2 per cent from the same time last year.
Group demand or revenue per passenger kilometres was up by 0.6 per cent for the month which produced a slightly higher revenue seat factor.
Domestic capacity shrunk slightly during the month which historically sees a drop in domestic business travel due to the holiday period.
Passenger numbers are up for the financial year to date, yields are also up both in the domestic and international markets. Lower fuel prices are also helping the airline’s bottom line.
Qantas Airways Limited
(ASX:QAN) reported a net profit of $206 million for the half year to end December 2014.
