Dividends push BKI H1 profit 20% higher

BKI Investment Company Limited (ASX:BKI) has improved its interim profit on the back of an increase in its special dividend income.  

The investment company boosted its net profit by 20.1 per cent to $22.9 million in the first half of the 2015 financial year. 

BKI says it received solid special dividend income from companies including New Hope Corporation Limited (ASX:NHC), Wesfarmers Limited (ASX:WED), ARB Corporation Limited, (ASX:ARP), Milton Corporation Limited (ASX:MLT) and Suncorp Group Limited (ASX:SUN)

Looking ahead the company believes it remains in a strong financial position and will be able to continue to invest for the longer term when opportunities arise. 

BKI has lifted its interim payout to 3.55 cents per share fully-franked.
