Australia’s biggest telco and the Big Four Banks are among the ASX-listed companies getting behind offering relief to customers impacted by South Australia’s bushfires.
Telstra Corporation Limited
(ASX:TLS) is aiming to assist at emergency relief centres and has launched an assistance package which includes short and long term measures.
The telco has also advised it has suffered damage to some infrastructure due to bushfires and repairs will be made once it is safe to access to sites.
Among the bank’s Westpac Banking Corporation
(ASX:WBC), National Australia Bank Limited
(ASX:NAB) and ANZ Banking Group
(ASX:ANZ) have launched assistance packages for South Australia.
Commonwealth Bank of Australia
(ASX:CBA) says its emergency assistance package is for both SA and Victoria in addition to a $500,000 donation to the South Australian Emergency Relief Fund.
Telstra Corporation reported a net profit of $4.34 billion in the 2014 financial year.
